Illini Host Northwestern in Big Ten Opener for both Schools
Last year the Illini won the only game between the schools by one point on a last second shot by Demetri McCamey - a game they did not deserve to win. Will the Wildcats get revenge?
Northwestern has started the season at 10-1 including impressive wins over Stanford, Notre Dame, Iowa State and North Carolina State. The Wildcats are ranked #25 in the Associated Press poll, but our Illini did not get a single vote in that poll. Northwestern's only loss was to #17 ranked Butler. This is the first game of the Big Ten Conference season, and the first time in many years that the Illini have begun conference play before the new year. Can the Illini start to show that they can win consistently and play defense? Will they put the Wildcats in their proper place?
The game begins Wednesday at 6:00 pm (San Diego time) and will be shown only on the Big Ten Network.
