San Diego Symphony - Beethoven Festival Concert

Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 and Piano Concerto No. 5, the Emperor, are regarded as among the best of all classical music works!

Your Illini Club is offering an exceptional concert by the San Diego Symphony at discounted prices on Sunday, May 2, at  2:00 PM.  The Emperor Concerto, in particular, is regarded by some as the best ever classical composition. The Concerto includes  very melodic and dramatic piano solos plus an orchestral accompaniment that well could stand on its own as a great musical composition.

Our tickets in the Mezzanine Section are $42 each. Click here to buy tickets!!! The deadline is April 17.

We will meet at the Symphony Box Office not later than 1:30 PM. Look for an Illini Club representative wearing something distinctively Illini. Those wishing to attend an informative  pre-concert talk at 1:15 should arrive no later than 1:00. The Box Office is in Copley Symphony Hall on the NE corner of 7th and B; enter from B Street. Free street parking in the vicinity is usually ample, since parking meters are not enforced on Sundays. There is also paid parking available in the Copley Symphony Hall building.

Following the concert, we will gather at the Karl Strauss Brew Pub (1157 Columbia) for Illini talk, drinks, and food. Free street parking is also usually available near the Pub.
