A Valentine Romance Winter Pops Concert with Marvin Hamlisch
All 24 Club Tickets have been sold and all 24 Illini will enjoy a pre-concert dinner at the historic Grant Grill. The "Love is in the Air" performance stars Hugh Panaro (Broadway's Phantom) and Jennifer Holliday (Dreamgirls Star) as featured vocalists.

original Dreamgirls. As Cupid takes aim, sparks will fly as two of our
favorite performers return to San Diego. Don’t miss Jennifer’s Tony
Award-winning And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going that’s sure to bring
down the house. You’ll even have a chance to vote for your favorite Valentine

The San Diego Symphony is a proud Tier One orchestra with 100
years of performance history, the first orchestra in California to reach that
landmark. The Symphony has 80 full-time contracted musicians ranging in age from their 20s to their 70s. Their indoor home is Copley Symphony Hall in Downtown San Diego. The San
Diego Symphony performed its first concert on December 6, 1910 in the Grand
Ballroom of the then-new U.S. Grant Hotel. Now, 100 years later, the
San Diego Symphony has grown into one of the top orchestras in the country both
artistically and financially. With a current budget of $18 million, the San
Diego Symphony is now placed in the Tier 1 category as ranked by the League of
American Orchestras.
Your Illini Club has purchased 25 group tickets for the 8:00 pm performance on Saturday, February 11 in the Main 4 Section (left center) at Copley Symphony Hall. Tickets are only $26, but must be purchased by January 9.
We have also made dinner reservations at 5:30pm at the Grant Grill. This will allow for a leisurely dinner and plenty of time to get to Symphony Hall. We will get a 20% discount on our dinners which normally range from $25 to $45. This is a fantastic opportunity to spoil that special person in your life with dinner at the historic Grant Grill plus a fantastic musical extravaganza.
